Rose sighed as she sat at her desk staring at her laptop. She hasn't been out for a while because she had an essay that was due Monday. The essay was assigned weeks ago but she had been procastinating. She really didn't want to do the essay. The topic of her essay was about two characters that she was comparing in The Odyssey. She hated that book with a passion. Her teacher has been obsessed with The Odyssey that she turned the English class into a Greek mythology class. Rosie didn't remember signing up for Greek mythology. She signed up to brush up on her grammar and learn some new words. Instead, she was learning new words that she won't ever use. She didn't have a problem with Greek mythology but she doesn't want to learn it. She rather learn something that she could do in the future.
She wasn't completely sure what she wanted to do in the future. Rose like to try new things but sometimes she gets so frustrated. She wanted to do something that was fun but would make a lot of money. She liked to film and edit movies but she wasn't sure if she wanted to become a movie editor or a film director. She liked telling people what to do but sometimes she gets anxiety attacks. Then her mood switches to being anger. It seems like she can't stick with one mood. It didn't help that Rosie's mom was a drug addict and verbally abused Rose. Luckily, her mother was out for the weekend at Las Vegas. Rosie tries to find other places to crash because she didn't want to come up to a mother that verbally abuse her while she was high.
Rosie lend back against her chair as she thought about what to write. She was comparing Penelope and Helen. She chose them because they were strong women and they were the only characters she liked in the book. Other than that, she can't stand the book. She grabbed her iphone, which was sitting next to her laptop. She glanced down at the screen hoping that someone texted her so she could distracted. She needed to get this essay done but she really didn't want to. Rosie groaned as her iphone showed no new text message. She gently put her phone down then sat up to continue typing.
