Kara was sitting in the well off family living of the Smith’s house. She was just sitting there, thinking. It was hard to do that when you had every T.V. or radio playing in the entire house. She couldn’t take it anymore before letting out a bloody scream. “Mom, dad, I’m leaving for school. See you whenever,” her voice was barely heard through the T.V.s and radios.
She gave out a sigh before picking up her tan messenger bag. The thing about the Smith’s is that her parents, Robert and Emily, didn’t care how late their kids, well daughter, stayed out. She was an only child and at times it sucked, like when she had to be home alone when her parents went away for the weekends. Normally she would invite all the cheerleaders and their boyfriends over and then more students from their high school would come to the raging parties.
She walked towards her baby. Her parents brought her a sleek red Porsche for her sixteenth birthday and she made sure to take really good care of it. She didn’t want them to think she couldn’t take care of it and take it away from her, but then again do they really pay attention? Not really, she thought with a sigh as she unlocked her driver’s side door and slid onto the black leather seats. With the door shut and her seat belt on and the car making a soft rumble, she pulled out of the drive way and went speeding towards the high way which would lead her to the State Park High School. For some people, it was their personal hell but for and the rest of the Barbie’s, it wasn’t.
Once on the high way she went about twenty over the speed limit and laughed. It felt good to be in a car that was built for speed, when the driver was built for speeding. She never got a speeding ticket thanks to her father, but he was always disappointed in her when he found that she almost got caught. He would smooth it over and then everything would be fine once more but life with her father was never fine or simple. She knew he loved her but he tried too hard to make her what the town of him wants her to be.
So, with that final thought, she got of the high way and drove until she pulled into the school’s parking lot. With her car and its spot, with the other Barbie’s cars, she got out of the car and locked her baby up. She started towards where the other Barbie’s were and thought, life was good her if you were at the top. And she and others were.
